In the summer we always expect plenty of good weather, but it's also an excellent time for Amiga Gamers with a flood of games news contining to come in. It was with great pleasure that I received contact with Crystal Software, an Amiga Publisher who disappeared out of the limelight but have returned to announce their line-up of games planned for us in the next few months.

Managing Director Andrew Reed explained to Amiga Flame that Crystal Software is a part of the CSI group of companies, dedicated to cost reduction for the software industry by playing a major strategic role as the development arm in a organizations structure. CSI group of companies also includes publications such as "Amiga Survivor" which was covered on Amiga Flame recently.

The line-up of games prepared by Crystal Software is impressive, their first release is expected to be Gilbert Goodmate an adventure game which is undergoing massive reworking to bring it up to a standard that surpasses the Monkey Island Trilogy. It will be Aga only, supporting graphics cards and containing a digital soundtrack on the CD. It's even more pleasing to hear that it may be available from GAME and Electronics Boutique in the UK as it will be on a multi-format CD for both pc and Amiga.

Tank Goblins is a 3D post apocalyptic fantasy shoot'em-up developed by English developers Pandemonium and has been radically redeveloped since it's appearance as a A500 title. It now boasts AGA graphics, CD digital sound track and Speech, plus much more that they're keeping under wraps.

If you want the development of ArcAngel to continue, then e-mail Crystal Software with your support.
ArcAngelArcAngel is a tactical space strategic war simulator, some of the graphics are on the page. Unfortunately it's been put on hold until they see how their efforts are accepted, I'm sure readers would like to see this title's development to continue.

Space Patrol is a little similar being a multi-player head to head space flight sim using a null modem link, network, or split screen. You fight for chosen alience to complete your aim of becoming the Ace of the Stars. There are various ships, weapons, and allies to help you along on what sounds like a promising multi-player game. It's in the early stages offering AGA and Graphics card support, real time rendered update (high end processors and PPC only), Digital CD soundtrack and Speech.

Crystal Software's last game for the meantime is Base which is a real time strategic tactical war game, in the style of C&C. There is not much info available but it seems that it will include speech from player controlled units using a their own unique Vidiback system. It will support Aga and graphics cards with the inclusion of a digital soundtrack from a surprise group known to people who follow the dance scene.

It's really astounding news to hear of so many games and I must emphasize that readers should show their support by e-mailing them. They have not had a easy time over the last few months but have struggled hard to get back on their feet to bring out games for the Amiga. Welcome back Crystal Software.
